In the recent trends in the luxurious full size sports SUV market, many automakers such as Mercedes Benz, Volvo and Bentley, have their offerings in this segment. And much like them, the German automaker BMW also has its BMW 7 Series as the standard for super high end luxury sedans which exhibits class, and leisure. And this new 2022 BMW X7 just reflects that style meets luxury which is being impressioned in the eyes of the buyers, with it’s super rich and lavish interiors to it’s powerful turbocharged engine inside, all that at a price of affordability if you compare it to the rivals from Volvo, Mercedes Benz and Bentley for that regards.
The BMW’s longest Bimmer comes with a six seat layout in three rows, plushed with fine and expensive materials, with an even more spacious cabin than its younger siblings. BMW’s biggest Bimmer is for the families who want the uttermost flagship experience from a BMW SUV.
What’s New For 2022 ?
For the 2022, the new X7 brings some significant changes for this year with addition to some revised optional packages and upgraded tech across all their lineup. And the top spec M50i model will come with new power sunshades instead of manual ones before in the second row windows. And sad news for the ones who’ll go for the base variant, that now it’ll no longer have the Dynamic Handling package as an option.
Engine & Performance
The new 2022 BMW X7 comes with two turbocharged engine options and will come standard with eight speed automatic transmission, all wheel drive with rear wheel steering. The base variant will pack in a 3.0 Litre turbocharged inline six cylinder engine which makes 335 hp and 331 lb ft of torque. The top spec M50i variant which will come onboard with a 4.4 Litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine which makes a hefty 523 hp and 553 lb ft of torque.
There’s also a specially tuned top of the line Alpina XB7 variant which packs a specially tuned twin-turbo V8 engine which makes a massive 617 hp and 553 lb ft of torque. All models will come onboard with standard air suspension setup and adaptive dampers with 21 inch wheels. No matter which variant you go for, you’ll hold onto your seats for a long time which the new X7 will surely leave you with.
Top Speed & 0-60 mph
2022 BMW X7 blasts off from 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and can achieve an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (could be upgrade to 177 mph) which is just astonishing for a car that size (Top Variant). While the V8 has the power of the twin turbos and eight cylinders that provide extra torque and makes sounds that are rude to roads, the turbo six is too charming and plenty powerful and calibrated such that it will leave you no room for extra power in any case with quick acceleration and responsive steering with precise hanging with good capabilities for cornering at steep angles with more grip and clinged to road body control.
The BMW X7 delivers an unmatched performance to the roads. While people who want the best of the best would go for the top of the line Alpina XB7 for its rich experience, the M50i would also attract people with its performance and to have the best of both worlds.
Fuel Economy | Mileage
Well you would expect a decent fuel economy from the new BMW X7, but only the turbo six, the power hungry V8 won’t stand out to your expectations as such. So the new X7 with it’s base turbo six manages to deliver an estimated mileage of 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway while the V8 equipped M50i delivers an estimated mileage of 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. While the top of the line Alpina XB7 variety delivers a combined mileage of 15 mpg.

Price
With a steep price of hefty $75,895. The BMW X7 comes with it’s big size body and carries a bold design language, unmatched comfort with some powerful capabilities along with it. It speaks richness in every way. And with a good engine options it makes easier for the buyers for prioritising what they need the most with little to no compromises, neither on the luxury nor the safety, it comes standard with 9 airbags as standard.
It manages to deliver the best of both worlds, all that at a great price. Even if you count the top of the line Alpina XB7 which starts at a heavy six figure price tag of $142,000. It’s far less compared to what the rivals ask.
