The 2022 Dodge Durango could be the best full size SUV for you if you want to experience a great feel of power with it’s base V6 upto an optional V8 and advanced technology inside it’s cabin with a sense of luxury to fit the average buyers, but there is a lack of drivers assistance features for which you have to pay a little extra. What’s New For 2022 ?
For the 2022, Dodge adds a blind spot monitoring system, with rear cross traffic alert, powered driver’s seat, rear parking sensors and roof rails and three row seats standard for the base Durango SXT model. While the GT model adds a remote start feature, heated front seats and steering wheel, power tailgate. The GT Plus variant adds a memory function to the driver’s seat, rain sensing windshield wipers, scuff plate for rear cargo area, leather and suede upholstery, and heated rear seats. And the top spec R/T Plus trim adds a nappa leather with contrast stitching, sunroof, automated emergency braking system, Harman Kardon stereo system and many others. And the GT and R/T variants will have a.vented hood like Durango SRT 392 with its optional Blacktop package.
Engine, Top Speed, 0-60 mph & Performance
The Dodge Durango comes with an array of drivetrain options. A 3.6 Litre V6 engine which makes 295 hp and 260 lb ft of torque for the SXT, GT and GT Plus variants while the R/T variant packs a much powerful 5.7 Litre V8 engine which makes 360 hp and 390 lb ft of torque. Every variant comes paired with standard eight speed automatic transmission and rear wheel drive and all wheel drive for the V8 model. While the V6 model can make it to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds, the much more powerful model can do it in just 6.2 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 120 mph.
While the RWD models add a lot more fun to your driving, the AWD will help you to corner easily with maximum grip and stability. The steering feedback is good, so does the braking ability, and will remind you every time that you’re driving an SUV. Most people will buy it for its practicality for a roomier cabin with three row seats and the sweet performance that it packs with it. Especially the V8 which can touch more than any SUV in the segment and is powerful enough to meet your daily chores with a SUV. And all in all manages to deliver a comfortable ride. Fuel Economy | Mileage
While the new Durango couldn’t meet the fuel efficiency like what the SUVs with a turbo four can deliver. But it’s V6 is decently on par with the engine of the same size in the segment delivering a mileage of a good 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway while the much powerful V8 also delivers a good 14 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
