Drunk CEO Approves Mercedes AMG One

Overview

Drunk CEO Approves the Mercedes AMG Project 1 Hypercar. In 2017, Mercedes-Benz introduced an aspiring proposition to make a 1,000-horsepower street-legal car with an engine from Formula One. This means an F1 car for the road. Already a great delay in launching the car back in 2019, but first Mercedes-AMG has to produce one of the limited 275 One units.

Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius joked about the approval when we asked about when the hypercar will finally hit the road in production form. He said, “The team at AMG and the High-Performance Powertrain Formula 1 arm came to us about four years ago and said ‘we’ve got a great idea, let’s put a Formula 1 engine into a road car.’ I will have to go back to check the meeting minutes, but I’m sure we were drunk when we said yes“.

Mercedes is pretty determined to finish this job, as AMG One is a difficult project. The brand would be revealing whether it’s the production version or the technical spec sheet about the AMG One “in a couple of weeks.” Bettina Fetzer, Head of Marketing, Mercedes-Benz said that the company will be making a “very honest documentary” about the development of AMG One.
