Overview
Eric Patrick Clapton is an English singer, songwriter, and one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time. Clapton was influenced by blues music from an early age and was gifted with a Hoyer Guitar on his 13th birthday. He used to practice this for long hours and record them with his portable Grundig reel-to-reel tape recorder.
He was expelled from Kingston College of Art for not focusing on art. And he began Street performing for money. In 1962 Clapton along with Dave Brock started performing in pubs around Surrey which is the time he was getting noticed. When he was 17 he joined a band called The Roosters and worked with them as a guitarist till 1963. He got the recognition and was awarded for his outstanding contribution to British music.
