Hyundai to soon launch its much-awaited Alcazar Facelift and one more SUV in India

Hyundai’s Indian portfolio is about to get a double dose of excitement with the arrival of the much-anticipated Creta N Line and the new Hyundai Alcazar Facelift, both set to launch in the coming months. While the Creta N Line promises performance thrills, the Alcazar facelift aims to elevate its premium appeal. Let’s delve deeper into what each SUV has to offer:

Hyundai’s N Line sub-brand brings performance aspirations to the Creta, injecting a dose of adrenaline into the popular mid-size SUV segment. The Creta N Line boasts a potent 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine churning out 160 hp and 253 Nm of torque, available with both a 6-speed manual gearbox (a first for the Creta) and the familiar 7-speed DCT. Expect a sportier exhaust note and a retuned suspension for sharper handling, reflecting the N Line’s heritage.

Visually, the Creta N Line transforms with an aggressive new front fascia featuring a slimmer grille, angular cuts, and wider air inlets. A bull bar-like element adds a touch of ruggedness, while the profile gets enhanced with pronounced side skirts, N Line emblems, and sporty 18-inch wheels. The rear boasts a prominent roof-mounted spoiler, a diffuser-integrated bumper, and dual exhaust tips for a powerful statement. New colour options like blue and matte grey further emphasize the Creta N Line’s distinct personality.

Inside, the Creta N Line retains the basic layout but adopts an all-black theme for a focused driving environment. An N Line-specific steering wheel and gear lever, metal pedals, and red accents add a sporty touch. While not a direct rival in terms of segment, the Creta N Line challenges other special edition variants like the Kia Seltos X Line and Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo, offering a compelling option for performance-oriented buyers. Expect a price premium of around Rs 50,000 compared to the standard Creta.

Following the Creta N Line’s lead, the Alcazar facelift is set to arrive in the middle of 2024, sharing several design elements with its five-seater sibling. As the three-row iteration of the Creta, the Alcazar receives a thoroughly redesigned front fascia with new LED headlamps and a new grille, along with a revised bumper. Expect newly designed alloy wheels, connected LED tail lamps, and a refreshed rear bumper to complete the exterior makeover.

Inside, the Alcazar facelift borrows heavily from the Creta, featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, and more. The dashboard and centre console receive updates, while multiple airbags and Level 2 ADAS technology enhance safety. The familiar 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engines remain unchanged, delivering 160 hp and 116 hp, respectively, with both manual and automatic transmission options available. Expect a minor price increase over the current Rs 16.77 lakh to Rs 21.28 lakh (ex-showroom) range.

Hyundai’s upcoming launches showcase a strategic approach to solidify its position in the Indian SUV market. The Creta N Line caters to performance enthusiasts, while the Alcazar facelift focuses on refining its premium family appeal. Both SUVs, with their design updates, feature upgrades, and potential price adjustments, are poised to attract new customers and maintain Hyundai’s competitive edge. With these exciting launches, the Indian automotive scene promises to get even more dynamic, offering diverse options for every buyer’s needs and preferences.
