Mahindra Scorpio N Gets 5 Star In GNCAP Crash Test

Mahindra Scorpio N Become One of The Safest SUV By Getting 5 Star For Adult & 3 Star For Child Occupant Protection

The newly launch Mahindra & Mahindra SUV Scorpio N has secured five star safety ratings for adult occupants and three star for child occupant in Global NCAP crash test under the #SaferCarsForIndia Campaign. Where in the same Campaign three cars of Maruti Suzuki participate named Swift, Ignis and S-Presso. And all of the Maruti cars got one star for adult occupant. Also even bad to know that Ignis and S-Presso gets zero star for child occupant where Swift gets one.

The test prototype was in Scorpio’s basic features and specifications as it has two front airbags and anti-lock braking system. The test team at Global NCAP has noticed that the absence of three point seatbelt is the reason for child occupant result which is three star. The Electronic Stability Control feature and Side Curtain feature is not available as standard where the side curtain airbags are available as standard in most of the produced variants (Units).

The test for Mahindra Scorpio N were conduct for frontal impact and side protection under the Global NCAP. ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is the reason for maximum numbers during the side impact test. David Ward Executive President of the Towards Zero Foundation says about Scorpio N:

“Indian manufacturers such as Mahindra & Mahindra have clearly demonstrated their ongoing commitment to improving vehicle safety performance. This is very welcome and we look forward to this promising momentum being maintained when Bharat NCAP is launch next year.”

The test of frontal impact results with the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck with good safety and protected. While chest area shows marginal protection also the knee area is perfectly fine. The driver’s tibias shows adequate safety and the passenger’s tibias shows adequate and marginal protection during frontal impact. The Mahindra is best scored for adult with 5 star ratings and a bit less for child occupant wit three star ratings.
