MG Hector and Hector Plus Price Drop Details

MG Motor India has made substantial price reductions on its MG Hector and Hector Plus, with discounts of up to Rs 1.37 lakh. These reductions primarily apply to the diesel variants, as both SUVs have been selling at a combined rate of around 2,000 units per month. In comparison, segment leaders like the Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio N consistently sell over 6,000 units per month on average. The Hector now starts at Rs 14.73 lakh, while the Hector Plus begins at Rs 17.50 lakh.

MG Hector Price Cut

The MG Hector has undergone significant price revisions, with the base petrol variant receiving a modest reduction of Rs 27,000. The top-end variant getting a more substantial cut of up to Rs 66,000. However, the diesel variants see the most substantial savings, with price cuts ranging from Rs 86,000 to Rs 1.29 lakh. The lower and mid-range diesel models have seen cuts under Rs 1 lakh. While the higher-spec Smart Pro and Sharp Pro diesel variants get more significant reductions of up to Rs 1.29 lakh. As a result, the MG Hector now spans a price range of Rs 14.73 lakh to Rs 21.73 lakh.

These substantial reductions apply to all diesel models, with the top-tier Sharp Pro 7-seater diesel variant receiving the highest price drop of Rs 1.37 lakh. The MG Hector Plus has a price tag of around Rs 17.50 lakh and Rs 22.43 lakh.

MG Powertrain

Both the MG Hector and Hector Plus come with a choice of two robust engine options. It has a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine with 143hp and 250Nm of torque. It puts the power out through either a 6-speed manual transmission or a smooth CVT gearbox. Alternatively, there’s the 2.0-liter diesel engine, producing a formidable 170hp and 350Nm of torque, exclusively available with a 6-speed manual transmission. These powertrain choices offer versatility to suit different driving preferences.
