The new Mini Cooper electric reflects Mini’s fresh design approach, known as Characteristic Simplicity. This design language focuses on the brand’s essentials, showcasing a clean and modern look. The redesigned tail-lights at the rear can be personalized, while the blacked-out pillars create a floating roof effect. The car’s dimensions have seen adjustments to accommodate the battery, resulting in a slightly shorter overall length. Exterior highlights include circular LED headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights, a new grille, revised bumpers, a contrasting black roof, and stylish yellow accents on the ORVMs and alloy wheels.

Features

The interior design of the Mini electric takes inspiration from the original BMC Mini of 1959, embracing a minimalist approach. It features a round instrument cluster positioned above a row of toggle switches. The curved dashboard boasts a unique knitted textile surface and houses a groundbreaking 9.4-inch OLED infotainment touchscreen, making it the first circular screen in a production car. The instrument cluster is replaced by a sleek, reflective panel for the head-up display, more streamlined steering wheel. The cabin also incorporates textured surfaces for added character. The SE electric’s interior includes a 5.5-inch colored MID, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a Nappa leather steering wheel.

Battery, Performance and Range

The Mini Cooper electric will have two distinct variants. The base Cooper E gets a front-mounted motor generating 184hp and 290Nm, paired with a 40.7kWh battery that grants it an impressive claimed range of 305km, a substantial improvement over the previous Electric model. The higher-spec Cooper SE boasts a more powerful motor producing 218hp and 330Nm, resulting in a rapid 0-100kph time of 6.7 seconds. It packs a larger 54.2kWh battery, extending its claimed range to 402km. These models come with various Mini Experience modes, each offering unique displays and powertrain characteristics, including a new Go-Kart Mode. Additionally, they feature new digital driving sounds.

Pricing
