Next-Gen Toyota Prius Launching On November 16

Global Debut Of Toyota Prius On November 16

The all new next generation Prius is launching on November 16 with some insane changes which includes all new hybrid powertrain, design, interior and can get styling cues from electric Toyota bZ3 sedan. New Gen Prius previewed by image on the social media of Toyota Japan featuring the strapline “Hybrid Re-Born” under the headline. This indicates that the Prius will get all new hybrid powertrain with some better fuel efficiency and performance to the today’s variant. Either a plug-in hybrid or motor generator set-up (in which a petrol engine generates electric current for motor and motor drives the wheels) as used by other Japanese brand Nissan in Qashqai e-Power.

All new Prius is likely to use Toyota’s TNGA platform ( Toyota New Global Architecture), which underpins models as varied as Toyota Corolla, current generation Yaris and upcoming Lexus RX. As we can see from the image that the front styling appears similar to the Toyota bZ3 which is currently in Chinese market. This bZ3 saloon use innovative blade batteries supplied by BYD which is a Chinese brand.

The Prius has also been retired from the Japanese GT300 racing series, after a decade of disagreement. Hiroto Kaneso, boss of APR Racing (which ran the Prius), told motorsport.com that its racer would not be replaced by a new Prius but by a different – secret – Toyota hybrid currently under development in the company.

The Prius use to sell in India back in 2017 but company need to discontinue because of less response. Brand is currently focus on making hybrid powertrain cars for India. We have Camry, newly launch Hyryder and upcoming Innova Hycross as hybrid vehicles in India. Let’s see if Toyota launch it again in the country with all new hybrid powertrain.
