The leaked spy photos and images depict a modern design with sleek aerodynamic curves and the distinctive Thor’s Hammer LED Headlights, emphasizing its Nordic heritage. Instead of a traditional front grille, there is an indentation resembling the diagonal Volvo logo. To enhance its appearance and make it seem lower and more streamlined, Volvo has employed the classic “paint-the-roof black” technique. However, despite these modifications, the EX30 is not an aggressive or sporty SUV but rather exhibits a charming and cute appeal from certain angles.

The EX30 captures attention with its appealing design, but Volvo is proud to emphasize its sustainable composition. A significant portion, 25%, of the aluminum used in the vehicle is recycled, showcasing Volvo’s commitment to environmental responsibility. Additionally, 17% of the steel used is also recycled, along with an equal proportion of repurposed plastic. Notably, even the carpets can be customized to be made entirely from reclaimed plastic bottles. Moreover, the EX30 offers consumers Nordico upholstery, crafted from PET bottles, and incorporates bio-attributed materials sourced from Scandinavian forests. Volvo EX30 Motor, Battery, Range & Performance
The upcoming crossover is expected to follow the footsteps of the XC40 Recharge in terms of specifications. Suggesting that the lower trim will feature a single rear-mounted motor generating 272 horsepower. The entry-level variant will come equipped with a 59 kWh LFP battery, while the high-end version will boast a 69 kWh battery. Interestingly, the greenest Volvo happens to be the fastest as well. Introducing the speediest Volvo ever produced. The top-of-the-line Twin Motor Performance edition delivers a whopping 428 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 3.4 seconds.
Even the base rear-drive version packs a punch with 272 horsepower, rivaling the acceleration of a Honda Civic Type R, reaching 60mph in under 5.5 seconds. Like many electric vehicles, this practical and compact family car offers an exhilarating level of speed that exceeds what is typically necessary. For those seeking extended mileage, the mid and top-tier dual motor vehicles are equipped with a robust 64kWh lithium-ion battery, significantly boosting the range from 213 miles to nearly 300 miles. What’s more, all these vehicles offer rapid charging capabilities, with charging speeds ranging between 134 and 153 kW. This means that you can conveniently recharge your vehicle from 10% to 80% capacity in under thirty minutes.

The EX30 is equipped with a range of safety features as part of Volvo’s Safe Space Technology. Additionally, the new electric SUV includes the Intersection Auto Brake feature, designed to promptly stop the vehicle in case of potential collisions. Ensuring driver attentiveness, the standard Advanced Driver Alert System utilizes motion sensors and eye-monitoring technology. Volvo’s trim levels for the EX30 are anticipated to follow the customary trifecta, a common practice in their vehicle lineup. As a result, the EX30 is likely to offer three variations: Core, Plus, and Ultimate. These options are expected to range in price from $50,000 to $60,000, accommodating both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.
