When it comes to EVs, one company that always pops in our mind is the world leader in the electric car segment, which is Tesla. And for this year, the company has been come major upgrades in terms of exterior and interiors and it’s performance too.
With its updated exterior it packs a new reworked interior with a digital instrument cluster and it’s controversial yolk steering wheel with a horizontal touchscreen display and few minor changes with performance upgrade where the long range model now makes more than 675 hp with a range of an insane 412 miles with an addition of a new Model S Plaid which it’s ridiculous 0-60 mph of 2 seconds made headlines and it’s more than 1000 hp performance and it’s six figure price tag are other things if you go for that monster of a car. Of Course the perks of having the Tesla is the software and it’s semi autonomous features which makes it stand out.
What’s New For 2022 ?
For the 2022, Tesla has done nothing but an increase in the price of the new Long Range model as the Model S has had a new Plaid trim last year, it comes with no significant changes for this year.
Engine, Transmission, 0-60 mph, Top Speed & Performance
The Tesla Model S comes with a dual or tri motor design for the long range and Plaid which makes upto 1020 hp and 1050 lb ft of torque. And with a ferocious acceleration from 0-60 mph in under 2 seconds time which is just madness. It’s even quicker than one of the fastest production supercars on the planet while the base model can do it in 2.4 seconds (man that’s still too quick) and can achieve a top speed of up to 165 mph.
And comes with a direct transmission and all wheel drive. And just like you expect from this sports sedan, it is capable of delivering a crazy amount of thrill with superb handling and confident steering feedback which hos it to corner like a champ with impressive stability and body control with great comfortable and effortless driving and is sheer to providing one of the better experience that you can get from a $90k+ sports sedan which is likely if you go for the Model S, where the Plaid could make you lose your all senses which it’s ridiculous acceleration, that is just a madness on the road.
Battery, Capacity, Range & Charging
The 2022 Tesla Model S packs a 100 kWh lithium ion battery which provides a driving range of 417 miles with the Long Range and about 390 miles with the Plaid, while having the support of Tesla’s supercharging network where it can charge upto 80% in just couple minutes with it’s DC fast charging capabilities upto 250 kW.
