Audi S4 is a high-performance variant of the brand’s A4. And in the past from 1991 until 1994 the vehicle served as a performance version of the Audi 100. The B5 generation of this vehicle came with a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine making 261 hp at 5,800 rpm, and a torque of 295 lb-ft at 1,850 rpm. But to cope with the US emission regulations the power output was reduced to 247 hp and torque to 258 lb-ft for the US market.
The engine is coupled to a standard six-speed C90 manual transmission while a five-speed ZF 5HP19 Tiptronic automatic transmission is optional. The B6 and B7 generations have the same 4.2-liter V8 engine which was included to be in the contest with the BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG. The B8 has a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 TFSI engine and the B9 equips a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 TFSI engine.
What’s New?
The new 2023 Audi S4 gets 19-inch wheels and summer tires as standard while the seasonal tires are optional. The Convenience package now gets adaptive cruise control while the Black Optic Plus package provides black rocker sills, rear spoiler, exhaust tips, and darkened Audi badges. The vehicle gets an optional black interior with red stitching with the new Audi Sport interior. And a couple of replacements in the exterior paint, the Chronos Gray substitutes Quantum Gray and Ascari Blue substitutes Turbo Blue.

The 2023 Audi S4 equips a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine making a power output of 349 hp and a torque of 369 lb-ft. And gets a standard eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. The performance of this vehicle is not that great but ranks above most of its rivals. With the automatic transmission, it feels smooth and responsive. The handling is easy, the accurate steering builds confidence while cornering. It can cruise calmly and also can be aggressive. The Premium trim starts at a price of $53,495 and the top trim the Prestige has $61,795. But the mid-range Premium Plus gives a good value with all the technical features and performance. It comes with a 360-degree camera, a 12.3-inch gauge cluster along with Audi’s Virtual Cockpit navigation, a wireless charger, and front and rear parking sensors with rear traffic alert. It also has an option of equipping the S Sport package for the better and premium interior and red brake calipers, a torque-vectoring rear differential.
