Details & Specification of 2023 Cadillac Escalade

2023 Cadillac Escalade is the new-gen version of the Escalade which served as the brand’s flagship long enough. Its huge chassis and aggressive looks broadcast its extroverted, red-blooded American take on luxury. Despite being based on the same underpinnings as the Chevy Suburban and the GMC Yukon, the Escalade makes a solid contender as a rival to other large luxury SUVs like the Lincoln Navigator, and Mercedes-Benz GLS-class. All that is because the Caddy features the brand’s most advanced technology and most luxurious features. Its cabin is plastered with wood, leather, designer fabrics, and satin-finished metals. A large, curved display travels across the dashboard, serving as both a gauge cluster and an infotainment center. A ton of driver-assistance features are available, which includes the American Marque’s excellent Super Cruise system. This is a combination of adaptive cruise control with hands-free driving mode.

What’s New?

Cadillac celebrates this year the birth of the first V-series Escalade. The high-performance Escalade V is powered by a 682-hp version of the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine tuned and borrowed from the award-winning CT5-V Blackwing. It also sports a menacing, blacked-out exterior appearance. The V variant has all-wheel drive as standard, and six-piston Brembo sport performance brakes with red calipers. The Escalade’s air suspension has been retuned to enhance handling in the V model.

Engine & Performance

The brand’s mega SUV is powered by a standard 6.2-Liter V8 engine that pumps out 420-hp and can deactivate half of its cylinders while cruising to save fuel. A 3.0-Liter diesel inline-six is also available. Both engines are mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission as standard. Buyers can choose from either rear- or all-wheel-drive setup. When it comes to its siblings, the current-gen Suburban and GMC Yukon, the Escalade floats on an independent rear suspension providing additional legroom. The higher-end variants also offer an air suspension with adaptive dampers. During testing, the long-wheelbase Escalade ESV with V8 galloped to 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds. The 277-hp diesel engine doesn’t deliver the performance of the V8, but for some, that compromise is worthy of the improved fuel economy. The Escalade V will perish enthusiasts with need for speed as it’s powered by a supercharged 6.2-Liter V8 making 682-hp.
