The 2023 Ferrari 812 GTS is a fast and opulent vehicle that offers both the delightful smoothness of an interior covered in Italian leather and the raucous cry of 789 prancing horses. It exhibits strong Jekyll-and-Hyde dualism. This front-engine, the rear-drive supercar can smash your insides together with its seemingly endless performance just as easily as it can transport you in comfort to dinner at a three-star Michelin restaurant. It completed the quarter-mile in 10.4 seconds at 138 mph after reaching 100 mph in 5.7 seconds. Quick indeed. That same fantastic 6.5-liter V-12 is housed under the hood of the 2023 812 GTS convertible, the sole body option offered for this model year. Anybody lucky enough to obtain a 2023 812 GTS will also be getting what is possibly the last fully aspirated V-12 Ferrari sports vehicle without hybrid help.

What’s New?
Ferrari has eliminated the Competizione coupe and Competizione A convertible (A for Aperta) from the 812 lineups for the 2023 model year, leaving the GTS convertible as the only option. The 812’s cabin provides seating for two, with moderately spacious accommodations, good ergonomics, and modern decor. Ferrari did away with the typical steering-wheel stalks and replaced them with push-button controls for the wipers and turn signals on the spokes to encourage drivers to embrace the grand-touring nature of the 812 and keep their hands on the wheel at all times.
Engine & Performance
A bracing 530 lb-ft of torque and 789 horsepower are sent to the rear wheels of the Ferrari 812 GTS via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Despite not using the Superfast moniker, the GTS is still extremely fast; according to Ferrari, its top speed is 211 mph. In testing, the Superfast reached 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds. Ferrari claims that the GTS should accelerate to 60 mph in about a tenth of a second more slowly than the Superfast. This is probably because the convertible weighs an estimated 265 pounds more than the coupe due to the folding top mechanism and necessary chassis reinforcements. It is simple to listen to the 812’s incredible noise thanks to the removable roof; its exhaust note begins as a guttural growl and rises to an ear-piercing shriek. And the standard carbon-ceramic brakes bring this beast to a swift and decisive halt; the Superfast coupe needed just 142 feet to stop from 70 mph in our testing and the braking performance should be similar to the GTS.
