2023 Honda Civic Si is built keeping affordability and enthusiasts in mind. While this front-wheel drive sport compact darling doesn’t cost a lot and is a lot of fun to drive. It is offered exclusively as a four-door sedan mated with a six-speed manual, using the 200-hp version of the normal Civic’s turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four. Inside, black cloth seats with red stitching and Sport Injected accents are plastered throughout.
Other highlights include a cabin with modern tech, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Rival crossovers like Volkswagen Taos and Hyundai Kona have easily replaced fun compact cars such as the Golf and Veloster. But the Civic Si lives as an entertaining alternative to this largely populated mundane world. However, it doesn’t have as much horsepower as the Golf GTI, but its lower starting price and standard equipment make it a tempting adventure.

What’s New?
A brand-new Civic Si debuted last year, so the sport compact is here in 2023 without any equipment changes. The exclusive set of sport seats with extra bolstering, unique Si logos on the headrests, and red contrast stitching are one of the highlights, which differentiate this Honda from the Si’s interior from the standard-issue Civic. The red stitching is all-over starting from the doors, steering wheel, and other surfaces denoting the car’s sportiness.
Engine & Performance
Under the hood of the Civic Si lies a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-pot pumping out 200 hp and 192 pound-feet of torque. All that juice is transferred to the front wheels via a standard limited-slip differential and a six-speed manual transmission. An automatic option isn’t currently offered. The engine feels coarse when forced, as well as there was little turbo lag. However, the shifter’s short throws and light action are lovable. The manual gearbox also features a rev-match feature for drivers who haven’t perfected the heel-and-toe technique, which is easy to turn on or off. On testing, the Civic Si took 6.6-second for 60-mph time. This is 0.7 seconds quicker than a regular Civic hatchback. Again, when compared with the standard Civic, the Si has larger brake rotors and is available with a set of summer tires.
