Maserati Grecale Trofeo Specifications & Features
We looked twice when Maserati presented the 2023 Maserati Grecale compact SUV. Was the twin-turbo V6 from the MC20 installed in that vehicle? They certainly did, and it’s known as the 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo. According to Maserati, this performance-driven vehicle can reach 60 mph in 3.6 seconds when all 523 of its horses are working at full gallop. With elegantly draped sheet metal, it also has a runway-ready exterior and a well-tailored interior, making competitors like the Audi SQ5 and the BMW X3 M look dowdy in comparison. However, the Grecale Trofeo’s performance and good looks come at a ridiculously high price—a six-figure one, to be clear—making it by far the priciest performance SUV in its category.
What’s New?
This year, Maserati has a brand-new model, the Grecale Trofeo. It made its debut alongside the basic Grecale and represents the tiny crossover line’s peak performance. High-tech flourishes are incorporated into the beautiful interior design of the Grecale Trofeo. Rich materials are used throughout the cabin, and the dash has a pair of touchscreens on the center stack and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The infotainment system is controlled by the 12.3-inch upper unit, while the HVAC and other functions are displayed on the 8.8-inch bottom screen. The norm is a three-zone climate system.
Maserati Grecale Trofeo Engine, Power, Performance & Acceleration
A twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine from the sports vehicle MC20 that has been tweaked to produce 523 horsepower powers the Grecale Trofeo. Maserati claims that’s still sufficient to accelerate the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 177 mph. An eight-speed automatic gearbox manages the gear changes and aids in supplying all of the horsepowers to the Grecale Trofeo’s AWD system. A basic feature of the Trofeo is an air suspension that can be modified to meet driving requirements as well as adaptive dampers. In our opinion, the Corsa driving mode stiffened the ride over potholes and other road imperfections too much. Maybe you should reserve that for a lap around a race track.

The Grecale Trofeo is equipped with the same 12.3-inch touchscreen Google-based infotainment system as the basic Grecale. On the dashboard, there is an additional 8.8-inch touchscreen that is used to control several features. Every model includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot. The sound system in the Grecale Trofeo, which comes standard with 14 speakers but can be upgraded to an even more potent 21-speaker system, was designed by Maserati in collaboration with Sonus Faber.

The Grecale Trofeo’s six-figure pricing puts it at a disadvantage when compared to other high-end SUV competitors that cost much less. We’d be cautious and steer clear of piling one up with pricey extras that would only serve to skyrocket the SUV’s price. Thankfully, the Trofeo includes the majority of standard premium features, such as a power sunroof, 21-inch wheels with summer tires, heated front seats that can be adjusted in 14 different ways, adaptive cruise control, and genuine leather upholstery. We would get the Trofeo Premium Plus Package for a few thousand dollars more if we felt like spending on extras. It also includes a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, heated back seats, and a Sonus Faber 21-speaker audio system.
