Overview
2023 Mercedes-AMG C63 will be a true example of downsizing. The 4.0-liter V8 is receiving farewell from Mercedes and replacing it with the M139 engine found in the AMG A45 models. There would be some big changes to perfectly mount the 2.0L four-pot longitudinally.
What’s New in 2023 Mercedes-AMG?
The new combustion engine will be paired with an electric motor mounted at the rear axle, making a healthy 201 hp. From the power of two combined, the new C63 will make a whopping 670hp, as well as the hybrid setup, will deliver as much as 750 Nm of torque. Mercedes has kept the powertrain simple, with a 48V starter motor derived from the larger inline-six engine setup used in CLS Class. The output would be channeled to wheels via a nine-speed, torque converter automatic transmission.

The new C63 will feature AMG’s new 4Matic setup, unlike its RWD-only predecessor. The car is expected to break the headlines in the coming weeks or months. But before that, the AMG One hypercar will be revealed today, June 1, in its full glory. The car will join other electric versions, such as GT 63 S E Performance and the C43, which has switched from a V6 to the same M139 four-cylinder unit.
