2023 Toyota Corolla is the 12th gen model, which offers impressive fuel efficiency and a plethora of standard safety features in a compact package. A huge range of models makes the Corolla set apart from other compacts. It is offered as both a sedan or hatchback, also available with an incredibly fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain.
What’s New?
Toyota made significant trim-level and powertrain changes to the 2023 Corolla lineup. Now, the Hybrid models have SE and XLE trim levels, along with optional AWD for Hybrid SE and LE trims. A new 8.0-inch infotainment screen replaced smaller displays on all Corollas as standard equipment. The XSE and XLE now feature a redesigned 7.0-inch gauge cluster; with all models getting an updated 4.2-inch cluster. There are minor visual tweaks like LED DRLs and redesigned headlights, a new rear diffuser, and fresh 18-inch Gloss Graphite wheels.

The Corolla hatchbacks have a refreshed grille, LED headlights, and rear bumper with chrome bits. Also, the base L trim has been removed, leaving the LE models as the new entry-level model. The interior features a streamlined dashboard and soft-touch materials. Other optional interior upgrades are ambient interior lighting, dual-zone climate control, and heated front seats. The hatchback has 18 cubic feet of cargo space but, the new no-cost Enhanced Cargo Space option increases the area by 6 cubic feet which, replaces the spare tire with a tire repair kit.

Every Corolla has a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. The 8.0-inch touchscreen bezel pretty much dominates the dashboard, with its hard buttons and rotary volume knobs help keep the driver-focused. Top options include wireless charging and an upgraded JBL audio system.

Engine, Performance, Top-Speed, 0-60 Mph & Mileage
The car sports a 169-hp 2.0L four-cylinder sending the power to the front wheels through a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). An optional six-speed manual is available for SE, and Apex SE models. All the hatchbacks share the same powertrain, the sedan also offers a hybrid powertrain. The Corolla SE and XSE have a stiffer sport-tuned suspension. The car has a top speed of 118 mph, along with a 0-60 mph run time of 8.0 seconds. As per the EPA estimates, the FWD hybrid earns a 53 mpg city and 52 highway. Whereas, the estimates of the nonhybrid ICE will earn up to 40 mpg highway. However, the Corolla hatchback is rated up to 32 mpg city and 42 highway.

Price
The prices start at $22,100 (est) for the LE trim and goes all the way up to $27,150 (est) for the Hybrid XLE.
