Volkswagen has finally moved the production of its new ID.4 US-spec model to its Chattanooga plant in Tennessee for the 2023 model year. VW adds a new entry-level Standard trim to the lineup with an aggressively low price. The base model offers over 208 miles of driving range as it packs a less capacity battery of 58 kWh. The top-spec Pro S Plus trim adds more features to make it worth your money. It offers new heated seats, 3-zone automatic control, new 20-inch wheels, a cool audio system, etc. The models now support a new 12-inch infotainment system as standard. Apart from that the new VW ID.4 comes with minor changes inside the interior with tweaks and more options.
EV Motor Specifications & Performance
The 2023 ID.4 comes with a single motor design that makes 201 hp while the dual motor setup makes over 296 hp with all-wheel drive. The car comes with all the nifty features like all EVs such as single-pedal driving with a regenerative braking system. Compared to the ICE-powered vehicles in the segment, the ID.4 offers a more comforting drive that rides to any imperfections with ease.
The VW ID.4 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than 5.4 seconds with its all-wheel drive variant while the rear-wheel drive does that in over 7.6 seconds. The new 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 offers a 58-kWh and a 77-kWh battery capable of delivering over 208 and 275 miles of driving range. It puts in with the Hyundai Kona and the Kia Niro. The range is not great compared to the Tesla Model Y which is a king in offering that. Although with an adequate range, Volkswagen offers 110 and 240-volt DC Fast charging on all ID.4 models.
