2023 VW ID. Buzz went into series production after decades of concepts getting teased. VW Commercial Vehicles has finally opened the factories for the Microbus’ revival. The assembly line in the Hannover factory has been overhauled over the past two years to accommodate the reborn icon. The ID. Buzz will start hitting the streets of Europe this fall, while in the U.S. buyers have to wait long as shipping won’t commence until late 2023.
The 2023 VW ID. Buzz Cargo is already in production and now even the passenger-oriented version has begun too. Around 4,000 specialized employees are hired, to make sure assembly of the electric people mover would start smoothly. The US version will be different in terms of a longer wheelbase to accommodate three rows of seats. While VW currently produces only the RWD model with a single electric motor. The ID. Buzz is also going to get a more formidable AWD-equipped variant with a dual-motor setup. Expected output of 300 hp considering that’s what the ID.4 GTX and ID.5 GTX will offer.
