The 2024 Aston Martin DB12 lineup, was unveiled in Gaydon. Celebrates important milestones for the brand and offers a more powerful engine, fresh designs, and improved suspension. While it doesn’t have a V12 engine, the DB12’s Mercedes-AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 surpasses the potency of the previous DB11 V12. Unlike other brands like Dodge, Ford, and Chevy, which focus on high horsepower in their SUVs and trucks. Driving an Aston Martin DB11 is a unique experience. The DB11 delivers impressive performance without compromising on comfort. Its aluminum chassis and suspension provide a smooth ride, even in the firmest setting. The luxurious seat patterns and high-quality leather enhance the overall DB11 experience. Despite having a small and outdated infotainment screen, the DB11’s stunning design and exclusivity remain timeless.

Engine & Performance
Welcoming the most recent DB model also means bidding farewell to the previous 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12. At least until Aston introduces a prospective AMR performance model, the only available engine is a twin-turbo V-8 with the same previous displacement of 4.0 liters. However, Aston has significantly increased the amount of power available, mostly by enlarging the turbos, altering the compression ratios, and revamping the cooling system. Peak power for the new and enhanced V-8 is 671 hp at 6000 rpm and peak torque is 590 pound-feet between 2750 and 6000 rpm. These numbers are not only much greater than the previous V-8’s 528 horses and 513 pound-feet but also higher than the previous V-12’s 630 horses and 516 pound-feet.
Price & Mileage
The 2024 Aston Martin DB12 is set to be released in the United States in the third quarter of this year. While specific pricing details have not been disclosed, the coupe variant is estimated to start at $245,000, marking an increase of approximately $37,000 compared to the V-8 coupe. Additionally, there are expectations that the convertible version, known as the DB12 Volante, will be unveiled with a starting price of around $260,000. As of now, the EPA has not provided any ratings for the DB12, but we will promptly update this information once it becomes available.
Acceleration & Features
The Aston Martin DB12 boasts a top speed of 202 mph and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Its suspension features adjustable dampers, stiffer anti-roll bars, and 21-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires. The car incorporates an electronic rear differential for quick traction control. Inside, the driver-centric design includes a large center console and luxurious Alcantara leather. Aston Martin has developed a new infotainment system with internet-connected navigation, 3D mapping, mobile app integration, and over-the-air updates. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The updated system eliminates most Mercedes switchgear, showcasing Aston Martin’s technology.

Engine & Performance
The DB11 provides customers with a choice between two engine options: a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 or a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V-12. The V-8 engine delivers 528 horsepower and 513 pound-feet of torque, while the V-12 offers an impressive 630 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that efficiently transfers all that power to the rear wheels. The DB11 coupe has proven that the eight-cylinder option can be just as quick and produce an equally impressive sound as the V-12. Although the Volante model does not offer the V-12 engine, it still maintains its exceptional performance capabilities.
Price & Mileage
In our opinion, the convertible model known as Volante provides the ultimate DB11 experience. However, those seeking the added allure of the V-12 engine will be disappointed, as the drop-top variant is exclusively available with the V-8. Once we’ve chosen our desired paint color, exterior trim, and interior preferences, we would opt for the Bang & Olufsen audio system and touchpad control for the infotainment system. The DB11’s price range starts at $220,086 for the V8 model and goes up to $236,286 for the Volante. Given its powerful V-8 and V-12 engines, fuel efficiency is not a top priority for the DB11. Nevertheless, the V-8 achieves a respectable 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, while the 12-cylinder alternative offers slightly lower figures of 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
Acceleration & Features
On testing a de-tuned version of the V-12 DB11 with 600 horsepower, it was pleasantly surprised by its impressive acceleration. The DB11 coupe demonstrated that the eight-cylinder option can match the speed and exude the same level of boldness as the V-12. The infotainment system, which is derived from Mercedes-Benz, offers intuitive controls and visually appealing menus. Interacting with the system can be done through a standard rotary controller or the optional touchpad on the center console, despite the screen appearing somewhat small at 8.0 inches. Aston Martin ensures that every DB11 comes equipped with a Wi-Fi hotspot, in addition to a 400-watt audio system and SiriusXM satellite radio.
