Enters the Ford Performance supercharger kit, recently showcased on the 2024 Ford Mustang V8 FP800S concept at SEMA. This kit guarantees 800+ hp for new Mustang models, underlining Ford’s commitment to high-performance driving. The Mustang’s standard 5.0L V8 packs 480 hp, but with the Whipple 3.0L supercharger, that number jumps to at least 800. This upgrade involves essential enhancements to the air and fuel systems. Notably, Ford assures compatibility with both automatic and manual transmissions. Plus, there’s a special version in the works specifically tailored for the Mustang Dark Horse. The supercharger kit, in line with CARB regulations, includes a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty from Ford Performance. While the Mustang kit is set to hit the market next year, its pricing remains undisclosed. Following the footsteps of the Ford F-150 FP700, Ford now introduces a similar upgrade for its iconic pony car. The Mustang FP800S concept not only integrates the new supercharger but also boasts a Borla Extreme cat-back exhaust featuring four 5.0-inch tips. With a lowered ride height, carbon-fiber aero elements, and reinforced half-shafts, this concept presents a sportier stance. The supercharger kit is separately available from the FP800S package, hinting at a potential production release. The Mustang concept’s aesthetic appeal is noteworthy, combining white wheels and grille nostrils with a racing-inspired body-side stripe.
