The eVX, alongside its Toyota counterpart, finds its foundation in Toyota’s EV platform, the 27PL. Maruti has yet to fully unveil the specifications, but the eVX is projected to offer two distinct powertrain options. A robust 60kWh battery pack that promises a real-world range of 400 km. Meanwhile, a slightly smaller 48-kWh battery pack will boast a commendable real-world range ranging from 350-400 km. As for the motors, expect a selection between single and dual motor configurations adding another layer of versatility to the eVX driving experience.

Recent sightings of the eVX undergoing testing in India provide a sneak peek beneath the camouflage. Despite the heavy disguise, discernible design cues echo the conceptual model paraded in Tokyo. The LED headlamps, seemingly production-ready, affirm the electric SUV’s progress. While Maruti has unveiled the concept’s interiors, expectations lean toward select elements making the transition to the production model, it will be a glimpse of the dual floating systems and touch-based HVAC controls. Maruti has substantiated its commitment to ushering in an electric SUV (eSUV) within the fiscal year 2024-2025. This electric SUV takes the form of the eVX model, a concept initially showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 and subsequently at the Tokyo Motor Show. Emerging reports suggest a potential unveiling of the production version of the eVX by the close of 2024 with pricing details set to unfold in the inaugural half of 2025.
