2024 Renault Duster global-spec revealed India launch likely will happen in 2025
Renault’s sister brand Dacia has launched the second-generation Duster globally in Portugal today. This rugged SUV is gearing up to hit European markets early next year, with its sights set on other destinations soon after. The revamped Duster is making a grand return to India, the official launch will likely happen in the second half of 2025. 2024 Renault Duster: Platform, Design, and Dimensions
The new Duster is built on the robust CMF-B platform shared with multiple Dacia, Renault, and Nissan models. The SUV maintains its signature robust and off-road appeal with its design takes cues from the Dacia Bigster concept. The Dacia Duster stretches to 4.34 meters in length and stands slightly longer than its predecessor, exuding a more aggressive stance.
Upfront, the Y-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps, chrome-accented grille, and distinct air vents create a striking visual. The rear showcases sharp, Y-shaped tail lights, a nod to its predecessor, while the tapering rear quarter glass maintains a link to the Duster’s iconic design. With a wheelbase of 2,657mm, this SUV is ready to conquer diverse terrains with its 4×2 and 4×4 options.
Interior and tech
Step into the new Duster, and you’ll find a double-layer dashboard adorned with light and dark grey shades. Higher variants boast two digital screens—an impressive 7-inch display for driver information and a 10.1-inch touchscreen handling infotainment duties. The horizontal panel below the central AC vents hosts controls for the HVAC system, enhancing both convenience and aesthetics. With features like wireless charging, automatic climate control, and an advanced Arkamys 3D sound system, the Duster promises a tech-savvy and comfortable ride.
2024 Renault Duster: Engine Options & Performance
The new Duster offers a range of engines including electrified options. Starting with the 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol hybrid is paired with two electric motors and comes paired with an automatic gearbox and regenerative braking. Another option is the 130-hp 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol coupled with a 48V hybrid motor. While some markets will see a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG variant the automaker will not make any diesel engine.
The 2024 Renault Duster will offer both 4×2 and 4×4 options, particularly with the 1.2-litre mild-hybrid powertrain. Although it lacks a traditional 4×4 setup and compensates with terrain modes like Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, off-road, and Eco. With 217mm of ground clearance, hill-descent control, and other loads of tech.
India launch date
The 2024 Duster will return to India in the second half of 2025. The upcoming Duster will add a new contender to the midsize SUV segment. It will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
