Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the 2024 Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts, unveiling their interiors and exterior teasers. Bookings for both SUVs have begun, requiring a booking amount of Rs 25,000. The prices will be announced in the upcoming weeks. These revamped models come with substantial design alterations, both inside and out, as well as enhanced infotainment and instrumentation. They get a 2.0-litre diesel engine with manual and automatic transmission options. Tata’s efforts aim to maintain a strong presence in the competitive SUV market, with the Harrier and Safari facelifts leading the charge after the recent Nexon updates.
2024 Tata Safari & Harrier Design
The Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts draw significant styling cues from the Harrier EV concept presented at Auto Expo 2023. They feature a new slim light bar connecting the LED daytime running lights and a refreshed mesh-type grille. Both models showcase vertically-stacked LED projector headlights within narrower clusters, linked by a black sash-like styling element in the redesigned front bumper. These updates extend to restyled skid plates and air intake grilles. It has wheels ranging from 17-19 inches, and both SUVs boast redesigned LED taillights connected by a light bar.
Interior and Features
The interior of the 2024 Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts has received several updates for a refreshed experience. Notable changes include a new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, and a 10.2-inch full-digital driver’s display. Additionally, it has capacitive touch controls for the climate control system, along with a freestanding 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system similar to the one found in the revamped Nexon EV. It has features like a seven airbags, powered and ventilated front seats, 360-degree cameras, wireless charger, air purifier, voice-activated panoramic sunroof with mood lighting, 10-speaker JBL sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Alexa integration, gesture-controlled tailgate opening function, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) available on the top-spec ‘Fearless’ and ‘Accomplished’ variants.
Engine and Performance
The 2024 Tata Safari and Harrier facelifts retain their 2.0-litre diesel engine, delivering 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Both SUVs will maintain the 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Pricing
The Harrier and Safari are ready to move up the price ladder. The pre-facelift Harrier ranged from Rs 15.20 lakh to Rs 24.27 lakh. Anticipate the Harrier facelift to span from Rs 16 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. Similarly, the Safari facelift is expected to be pricier, with anticipated prices ranging from Rs 17 lakh to Rs 26 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
