The current generation of the Honda Amaze has been on sale since 2018, receiving a mid-life update in 2021. A new generation model of the compact sedan is already in development, with expectations for an international debut this year. The third-generation Amaze will be based on a heavily updated version of the existing PF2 platform. In terms of powertrain, the existing 1.2-litre i-VTEC will be retained for the Indian market, with no diesel engine option available. The engine makes 90 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque. The upcoming model will feature an all-new design along with an updated interior layout.

Honda is preparing to launch a new compact SUV for the Indian market, anticipated to debut by the end of 2024. Positioned below the Elevate in Honda’s lineup, this sub-4-meter SUV will compete with models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Hyundai Venue. Reports suggest that it will revive the WR-V moniker, which was discontinued earlier this year. It was due to the BS6.2 emission norms.

It is expected that the Indian variant will be based on the Indonesian spec model, which measures around 4 meters in length. The design will likely align with the Elevate, and the SUV may incorporate ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology. Powering the vehicle will likely be Honda’s 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine, delivering 90 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque, with both manual and automatic gearbox options available.

Honda’s inaugural electric vehicle for the Indian market will be part of the ACE (Asian Compact Electric) lineup, based on a modified version of the Elevate platform. Manufactured in India, this upcoming electric SUV will be exported to multiple international markets. Set to compete with upcoming models like the Hyundai Creta EV, the Elevate EV will roll off the production line at Honda’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan, which is undergoing retooling for electric vehicle manufacturing.
