Lucid Motors has announced the price hikes for its car, the Lucid Air. The reason behind the price hike was due to increased material costs and obviously the supply chain issues. There is no manufacturer that hasn’t been affected by the ongoing supply chain issues.

The popular EV startup has said that people who reserved the Lucid Air will be able to get the car at the reserved price without the new hiked prices. The new pricing will take effect on June 1. So all the reservations prior to the date will not be affected. The customers that are still intending to buy the new Lucid Air EV are able to reserve the car at the old prices before the new rates come into effect.
Lucid’s base model, the Air Pure will now start at $89,050 with the new price having hiked about $10,000 more. The Grand will start at $109,050 with a price hike of $12,050. The price of Air Touring is hiked by $15,650 and will start at $155,650. However, the top-end Air Grand Touring Performance Aur Dream Edition is already sold out. With a slight price bump to $180,650 with an additional $150 for the destination charge.
The company started producing the Lucid Air last fall. The company has reservations of more than 30,000. And has delivered over 360 vehicles so far in 2022. This year Lucid plans to produce over 14,000 vehicles, which before was 20,000 after they downgraded earlier this year.
