Porsche Taycan Turbo S is Porsche’s all-electric sedan and it is a range-topping variant of the Porsche Taycan. It got launched in 2019 and already has become Porsche’s one of its best-selling cars. It all started back in 2015 when Porsche revealed the concept version of the Porsche Taycan named the Porsche Mission E at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Taycan is derived from the Turkish word tay + can which translates as “lively young horse”. Its price starts at $185,000 for the Taycan Sedan and $185,600 for the Cross Turismo. It is the fastest and most powerful EV that Porsche currently makes. It has the new Guinness World record on its name for the fastest indoor speed ever achieved. Electric Car with a Supercar level performance
Porsche does not market it as a supercar but it packs all the performance of a supercar. It got so much enthusiasm in its steering wheel that it feels just as good as petrol-powered supercars. Taycan Turbo S will not make you feel that you are driving an electric car unless you feel the silence of an electric motor. It is a full track-ready electric car that no one offers in this price range.
Taycan Turbo S comes with a pair of two permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors that produce a combined output of 761 hp and 1050 Nm of torque while power going to all of its four wheels. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.4 seconds and its top speed stop at a speed of 162 miles per hour. Taycan Turbo S is more tracked-focused even though Porsche does not intend to make it that way. You will get all the confidence while driving this electric beast. Its major electric rival Tesla Model S Plaid is quicker on paper but Taycan Turbo S is more confident to drive and sticks to the road. It is specially built to prioritize performance over range and efficiency.
It has four driving modes – Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, and Range. Range mode does what it says, it maximizes the efficiency of the vehicle. To get the most power out of its electric motors you need to get in Sport Plus mode and Taycan Turbo S will give all the pleasure of the speed and crazy fun.
Taycan Turbo S is not Compromised on Practicality
Having all those bonkers of performances beneath your feet will make you forget that you are sitting in a 4-door sedan. Porsche Taycan Turbo S has decent space in the rear seat. Taycan Turbo S has a huge battery tucked under. Usually in this situation passenger are forced to sit with uncomfortable knees up position but Porsche played smart here and they solved this problem with “Foot Garages” that enhances legroom and rear-seat passengers can sit with good seating posture. The Boot is not big enough but can accommodate some small bags and front trunk has a boot capacity of 81 litres. Inside the cabin there are some storage spaces. It provides 227 miles of range.
Beautiful eye-catching Interiors
Its interior is nothing different from most of the other Porsche models. It has beautiful interiors with premium quality materials. It got bucket seats with leather upholstery. Those bucket seats will hold you with utmost comfort. The leather upholstery is carried from bucket seats to the steering wheel and A/C vents. There is a dual-screen setup in the center console which features basic features like climate control settings and power-operated trunk and hood controls. Its Infotainment system is very fluid to use. Its very impressive instrument cluster is enormous and curved glass with touch-sensitive edges from which you can control the headlights of the vehicle, traction control, and suspension settings.
Appealing Design of the Taycan Turbo S
Porsche has given Taycan a mean and modern look. It has an aggressive front end and from which it is easily recognizable as a Porsche. It got a sloping hood with nice bodylines that runs between a pair of arched fenders. On the back, it has a lightbar that gives it a modern EV style. It comes in three different body styles. You can get it in sedan body type which was available from its release. Now Porsche has added two more body types. There is Cross Turismo which is in form of an estate-type crossover and Sport Turismo which has an estate rear-end for more practicality.
