Although the BMW 5 Series isn’t that enthusiastic car one is looking for, one might consider it because of it’s more roomier and luxurious cabin inside with loads of options to choose from. It offers a multi powertrain option from a good fuel economy turbo four up till the growling twin-turbocharged V8 making your road trips and highway cruising much more silkier and which aren’t given by it’s key rivals from Audi and Mercedes.

What’s New For 2022 ?
The company has removed many optional features like onboard wifi and wireless charging and remote start feature but still offer some features which are only reserved for the high end M sport trim.
Engine, Top Speed, 0-60mph & Performance
The new 2022 BMW 5 Series is silky Smooth, powerful, but efficient. The base model 530i comes with a 2.0 Litre turbocharged four cylinder engine which makes 248 hp, the 530e plug-in hybrid which has the same turbo four with a 21 mile electric only range and makes 288 hp with it’s low emissions. Another 540i which is powered by a 3.0 Litre turbocharged six cylinder engine which makes 335 hp with 331 lb ft of torque. And the most powerful M550i which is the beast of the lineup with it’s 4.4 Litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine which makes a hefty 523 hp with 553 lb ft of torque to make it more eager to play with.
And can blast from 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 155 mph. It’s got something for everyone. While many will opt for the plug-in hybrid or the turbo six, but the most enthusiastic one’s will go for the top trim V8 for the unimaginable driving thrill, great handling with precise gearshifts with an eight speed automatic transmission as standard on all models, the 5 Series is just a delight to drive with it’s spacious cabin full of luxury so that one wouldn’t miss out on anything. While all the models provide a great driving thrill, the top M550i has more comfort than just a regular BMW with a V8.
Fuel Economy | Mileage
While the base 530i with turbo four manages to deliver a mileage of 25 mpg in the city and 33 on the highway, the 530e delivers an average of 34 mpg combined. And the 540i with turbo six delivers a mileage of 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highways and the top spec M550i manages to deliver a mileage of 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

With a starting price of $54,200 the 2022 BMW 5 Series turned out to be a great buy for the people and successfully manages to keep that an executive car tagline. And while the base 530i trim will be just enough for you, we’d suggest going for the 530e or the 540i which is a more practical choice with a suite of features that are offered by the brand. And not to mention the insanely powerful top spec M550i trim is always in your concern for the utmost thrill and filling your void for the needed performance.
