Overview
The new 2022 BMW 4 Series which takes a grand leap forward from the standard BMW design language like the 3 Series or the 5 Series cars. It shares the chassis and the interior from the 3 Series but has a new front and rear end looks. And yes while we’re talking about the looks, let’s address the elephant in the room first, the new grille which has created a whole lot of controversy since the images went public. We think it’s just absolutely great, of course it’s way bigger than the traditional BMW kidney grille but it’s good and blends in with the cutting edge looks of the 4 Series and it’s beautiful roof line.
And with its rich and luxurious cabin and all needed technology inside, the new 4 Series comes with a Coupe and a soft top convertible model and comes with two engine options, a 255 hp turbo four and a 382 hp turbo six delivering a great performance. While some buyers may get confused between the practicality of the car, many will buy it as a really good competitor in its class with the rivals such as the Mercedes Benz C Class and the Audi A5. And those who still want more space they could opt for the 4 Series Gran Coupe for the added practicality and much roomier space inside.
What’s New For 2022 ?
Since the 4 Series is kinda new, BMW hasn’t made much changes for the 2022 lineup. But the top trim M440i comes with a new rear wheel drive and all models come with ambient interior lighting as standard and the premium package will now include a power lumbar support, tech features like heads up display and gesture controls. And the 4 Series now comes with two new colour options with a standard faux leather upholstery.

Engine, Top Speed, 0-60mph & Performance
Just like the 3 Series, the 4 Series comes with the same engine options, a 2.0 Litre turbocharged four cylinder engine which makes 255 hp and a 3.0 Litre turbocharged inline six cylinder engine which makes 382 hp with 364 lb ft of torque, combined with a 48 Volt hybrid system, both paired with an eight speed automatic transmission as standard and rear or all wheel drive system. And thanks to its aggressive steering and tuned suspension the new 4 Series delivers a great performance with a smooth and joyful riding experience with supreme refinement and a much lower centre of gravity the 4 Series handles curves like a champ. It can blast off 60 mph from 0 in just 3.8 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 157 mph.
Fuel Economy | Mileage
The new BMW 4 Series, with the base turbo four which delivers a mileage of 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway while the all wheel drive variant maintains to deliver a mileage of 24 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. And with the turbo six which delivers a mileage of 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
