Overview
Dodge Challenger convertible was not offered by Dodge. Many people want the fun of a convertible with a performance of a muscle car. Dodge is America’s carmaker that excels in making muscle cars. Their catalog includes sedans like Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, and SUV Dodge Durango. They are ferocious machines and are famous all over the world. These cars are famous for their powerful engines, mean styling, and pure American muscle car vibes. Many gearheads modify them and make them more powerful drag racing beasts. All these fun but the convertible is something that Dodge misses out on. This will surely add a big smile to convertible fans. Let’s take a deep dive into this and see how Dodge will make this happen, as per Motor1.
All the Processes to Convert Challenger Coupe into Convertible
Recently, Dodge said that Buyers can order a challenger which goes straight from the factory to a third-party shop for a convertible conversion. Their dealerships will offer one-stop ordering for new challenger convertibles that will be built by Drop Top Customs. Drop Top Customs is a car customization workshop, originally founded in 1976 as “Coachbuilders Limited”. They have over 41 years of experience. Dodge dealerships will order Challenger from Brampton and send them directly to Drop Top customs for the conversion of challenger coupe into convertibles. This process will take place before the customer takes delivery.
Keeping the process as simple as possible, buyers have to visit their local Dodge dealer and place an order for a new Challenger. They can choose the challenger in R/T, R/T Scat Pack, or SRT Hellcat trim. Then the dealer selects the fastest shipping option and sends it to Drop Top Customization. There all the conversion processes will take place. Dodge will ship it directly from Dodge Brampton Assembly Plant to the Drop Top Customs. Then after all the conversions, the car will finally deliver to the customer. Dodge has not mentioned the exact time and how long will this process will take. However, they have shortened the build-to-delivery time. They said orders will start from 16 August for the new 2022 Challengers.
Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said “While we hit the throttle towards our new performance path, Dodge is also having fun on this victory lap by celebrating decades of muscle car power”
