Toyota is going to launch GR Supra Matte White limited edition. It will have manual transmission like the 2023 Supra announced for the American Market. This limited edition is only limited to Japan and will be available in white matte color. So, Japan’s roads will see a manual transmission Supra quicker than the American roads. Enthusiasts were waiting for this as Mark 5 Supra doesn’t offer manual transmission before and was only available with an eight-speed automatic. It will be the first Mark 5 Supra that will come with a manual transmission. Cosmetic Changes That Differentiate It From Regular Mark 5 Supra
The new limited-edition Toyota Mark 5 Supra will come With Matte Avalanche White Metallic that’s what Toyota named it. The manual version of the Mark 5 Supra announced in the first half of 2022 will get a red-colored Supra logo at the back that will distinguish it from automatic variants so does this limited-edition Mark 5 Supra. Red is for manual. Other than that, the only change made to this Limited edition is the different design for its gunmetal alloy wheels. It is as same as Supra 3.0 Premium variant sold in the USA. Except for the white matte color and alloy wheels, other things remain the same. It retains all the aggressive and aerodynamic design of the Mark 5 Supra.
As soon as you step into the cabin, the first thing you will notice is the tan leather upholstery. From the seats to the center armrest, it is wrapped in tan leather that gives its interior a premium feel. Its three-spoke multi-functional steering is partially wrapped in tan leather. All the buttons are finished in gloss black. The mixture of tan leather and gloss black looks appealing. It gets some carbon fiber inserts on the dashboard and on the lower center console which is also available in the limited-edition A91-CF that is available in the USA. GR Supra Matte White edition gets all the modern tech like an 8.8-inch full TFT instrument cluster, 8.8-inch infotainment system, wireless charging, heads-up display, and a 14-way power adjustable driver’s sports seat. Manual Gearbox – The Main Character
GR Supra Matte White edition comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine which is as same as the 3.0 Premium variant of USA. It produces 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Unlike its eight-speed automatic gearbox, it gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. Toyota will give this manual gearbox later in the USA in the 3.0-liter variants of the Supra.
All the mechanical things will remain the same in the GR Matte White Edition Supra as in the upcoming manual version of the Supra. Mark 5 Supra fans will finally get a manual gearbox. However, it is not fully manual. Its manual gearbox uses the iMT(Intelligent Manual Transmission) system. In this system, there is no clutch to press there is only an accelerator and a brake. When you change the gear, its intelligent software and actuator virtually engage the clutch. You will get the fun of a manual gearbox without worrying about the clutch.
The Exclusiveness Of GR Matte White Edition.
It is so exclusive that Toyota is selling through a lottery system. The entries of this lottery were open on the 20th and 21st of July 2022. Some lucky people got selected and they will get their delivery from the beginning of October 2022. Toyota will make only 50 units of GR Supra Matte White Limited Edition and that 50 units will only be available in Japan. It is not going to be available outside Japan. It is priced at around $57,088 which is $4,000 more than the RZ variant already sold in Japan. Toyota is charging a premium of $4,000 for tan leather upholstery, matte white color, and a limited-edition badge on the dashboard.
