Mahindra has entered the defence mobility segment with a rugged all-terrain vehicle based on the popular Thar Roxx. The Mahindra Thar Roxx ATV was recently revealed by Anand Mahindra and is purpose-built for the Indian Army and security forces. This military-grade vehicle combines the proven capability of the Thar Roxx with specialised combat features and extreme durability.
Design and Exterior Upgrades
The Mahindra Thar Roxx ATV features a completely open-frame design optimised for operational flexibility. Instead of a conventional roof, it gets a strong roll cage with open mounts for a 360-degree turret. The standard doors have been removed and replaced with lightweight metal pipe doors for easier access and better visibility. Additional foot steps near the hinges help troops reach the upper structure and manage cargo efficiently.
The front end retains signature elements like the six-slot grille and LED headlamps but adds a reinforced bumper with an integrated winch. A strengthened windshield frame with metal tubing improves rigidity and provides mounting points for auxiliary lights. The bonnet includes a farm jack for quick field repairs.
Powertrain and Mechanical Specifications
At its core, the Mahindra Thar Roxx ATV uses the same robust powertrain as the civilian Thar Roxx:

Mahindra’s Growing Defence Portfolio
