While the current XUV400 EV faces stiff competition in the market, Mahindra is not backing down. The company is actively developing the XUV300 EV, a more compact and potentially more affordable offering compared to the XUV400. Based on the upcoming XUV300 facelift, this electric iteration will come equipped with a 35 kWh battery pack. Positioned strategically below the XUV400, the XUV300 EV is likely to take direct aim at the popular Tata Nexon EV. With an anticipated launch date of June 2024 and a projected price tag of around Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom), the XUV300 EV has the potential to become a compelling choice for budget-conscious EV buyers.
2. Mahindra XUV.e8:
This will be the first EV to roll off the production line under the XUV.e brand. The XUV.e8 is slated for a late 2024 launch. This model will use Mahindra’s new INGLO platform and will draw power from an 80 kWh battery pack. The electric SUV will offer a power output ranging from 227 bhp to 345 bhp. Similar to the XUV.e9 and BE.05, it will come in both 2WD and AWD configurations, utilizing single and dual motor setups respectively. Spy shots have partially revealed the XUV.e8’s design, showcasing a new set of vertically stacked LED headlamps, a full-width LED DRL, and stylish alloy wheels.
3. Mahindra BE.05:
Scheduled to debut in 2025, the BE.05 will be the first electric SUV to bear the BE badge. This model boasts a distinctive “born electric” approach, signifying its development from the ground up specifically for electric mobility. Built upon the brand’s INGLO platform, it is expected to measure approximately 4.3 meters in length. Powertrain options are expected to include both 2WD and 4WD configurations, drawing energy from a substantial 80 kWh battery pack. With a claimed range exceeding 500 kilometres on a single charge, the BE.05 promises impressive efficiency and practicality.
4. Mahindra XUV.e9:
The XUV.e9, another product of the INGLO platform, has garnered attention with its international and domestic test sightings. Its anticipated launch in 2025 further bolsters Mahindra’s commitment to the electric SUV space. Recent spy shots reveal sleek LED tail lamps and a captivating connected light strip, hinting at a modern and eye-catching design language. The XUV.e9 is expected to share its powertrain with the XUV.e8, utilizing an 80 kWh battery pack and offering an AWD option with two electric motors producing up to 350 bhp.
