Externally, the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift will showcase a more angular and sharper design. Drawing inspiration from the XUV700 and the upcoming BE range models, the new model may feature an updated grille, revised front and rear bumpers, new split LED headlamps, a new connected LED signature, and dynamic swipe turn indicators. In terms of profile, we expect the smallest Mahindra SUV to maintain its overall silhouette but incorporate a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels.

The new Mahindra XUV300 facelift will introduce an all-new dashboard design inspired by the recently updated XUV400 EV. Although the centre console is concealed in spy shots, it is expected to undergo a redesign focused on practicality. The HVAC controls may also see updates, along with new horizontal AC vents.

The most significant change in the new model will be the inclusion of a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, replacing the ageing 7-inch system. This system will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and may come paired with a premium music system. Other features expected include an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a fully digital instrument cluster with a map view, and a new steering wheel borrowed from the XUV700. The black and beige theme from the current model is likely to continue in the new model but with a redesigned seat pattern. To compete with rivals like the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue, Mahindra may offer a 360-degree camera and level 1 ADAS on the XUV300 facelift.

Powertrain & Specifications

Regarding powertrain options, the XUV300 facelift will retain the existing engine lineup. This includes the 1.2-liter turbo petrol and the 1.5-liter turbo diesel engines producing 109 bhp and 115 bhp, respectively. The more potent XUV300 Turbo Sport model will feature the 1.2-litre T-GDi unit delivering 120 bhp. All models will be available with a standard 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT transmission options. Additionally, reports suggest a new AISIN-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic may also be offered.

Reports indicate that Mahindra will continue to use a localized version of SsangYong’s X100 platform for the XUV300 in 2024. This updated chassis is expected to address the boot space issue in the new SUV. This new modular chassis could serve as the foundation for a family of SUVs, starting with the XUV500, rumoured to return to the Indian market. Furthermore, the 1.5-litre T-GDI engine (163 bhp, 280 Nm) unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo may also make its production debut with these SUVs.

Price & India Launch

As of now, Mahindra Cars has not provided specific timelines for launching the new XUV300 in the Indian market. However, it is expected to go on sale before the end of April 2024.
