This strategic move strengthens the company’s commitment to offering eco-friendly options alongside its dominant presence in the petrol and diesel car segments. Let’s look at the two new hybrid cars Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce in the Indian market.
1. Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid:
The ever-popular Maruti Suzuki Swift, a household name in India is due a significant upgrade with the introduction of its hybrid iteration. Inside, the new Swift Hybrid will offer enhanced features and a more premium feel.
The heart of the new Swift lies in the debut of the 1.2L Z-series three-cylinder petrol engine, available in two variants: mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid. This marks a significant step forward for Maruti Suzuki, catering to the growing demand for fuel-efficient and eco-conscious vehicles.
The mild-hybrid option promises impressive fuel efficiency without compromising on the driving experience that Swift enthusiasts have come to appreciate. On the other hand, the strong hybrid variant is expected to deliver exceptional fuel economy, potentially setting a new benchmark in the segment. Both options will be available with manual and automatic transmission choices, ensuring a perfect match for diverse driving preferences.
2. Maruti Suzuki Dzire:
Accompanying the Swift on its journey to hybrid electrification is the next-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Sharing its platform and design elements with the Swift, the Dzire adopts a similar approach to electrification, offering both mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid variants.
While the exterior design will draw inspiration from the new Swift, expect the Dzire to retain its distinct sedan silhouette with a longer boot, catering to buyers seeking a combination of practicality and eco-friendliness. Inside, the Dzire will mirror the Swift’s updated cabin layout, featuring a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 360-degree camera, and other advanced features for a premium and comfortable driving experience.
Mechanically, the new Dzire will be identical to its hatchback counterpart. It will share both the 1.2L Z-series engine with mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid options. This strategic move streamlines production processes while offering consumers a wider range of choices within the same platform.
