Maserati GranTurismo Folgore got teased at Formula E Announcement. With a partnership with ROKiT Venturi Racing for Season 9 of FIA’s Formula E World Championship. It’s exciting that Maserati would be the first automotive brand from Italy to join Formula E. Here is the GranTurismo Folgore in the background of the announcement.

This model is a pivot in Maserati’s plan to go fully electric by 2023, becoming the brand’s first production EV when it debuts. Here in the images, we see that the body and lights are in their final state with some camouflage covering the front fascia. The camouflage used is a Blue Wrap, hiding the shape of body lines around the rear fenders. Maserati is promising big on the tech aspect, as a zero-emissions coupe.

This EV is based on a new platform and would be powered by three electric motors. The most-specced version will have more than 1,200 hp delivered to all four wheels with a top speed of 190 mph. The battery used is an 800 Volt battery pack mounted low in the car making a 0-60 mph run in less than 3 seconds.

With this new cooperation with ROKit Venturi Racing, Maserati said it will boost the brand’s return to motorsport with its “determination and desire to compete and win on circuits all over the world.” Maserati also announced on social media that the GranTurismo Folgore would be at the 2022 Rome E-Prix, taking place April 9-10.
