All-New Maserati GranCabrio
Maserati, the iconic Italian marque renowned for its blend of luxury and performance, has officially unveiled the all-new GranCabrio. Following the critically acclaimed GranTurismo coupe launched in 2023, the GranCabrio promises an even more exhilarating experience by transforming the driving experience into an open-air theatre, without sacrificing the performance or comfort that defines the Maserati DNA.
All-New Maserati GranCabrio: Open-Air Indulgence
The most significant distinction between the GranCabrio and its GranTurismo sibling lies in the roof. The coupe’s sleek lines are replaced by a sophisticated folding fabric top, meticulously crafted for both style and functionality. This convertible roof can be raised or lowered in a mere 14 seconds, even at speeds of up to 50 kph, ensuring a seamless transition between open-air thrills and weather protection. The fabric top is available in a stunning array of five colours, allowing owners to personalize their GranCabrio to their tastes.

Under the hood, the GranCabrio pulsates with the heart of a true thoroughbred. It shares the potent Nettuno 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with the GranTurismo and MC20, renowned for its exhilarating power and exhilarating soundtrack. Initially, Maserati has unveiled the GranCabrio solely in the top-spec Trofeo guise, where this formidable engine unleashes a commanding 550 horsepower. Additionally, the Trofeo boasts an all-wheel drive as standard, ensuring optimal power delivery and dynamic handling in all conditions.
While Maserati has yet to officially reveal the GranCabrio’s acceleration figures or top speed, we can glean insights from its coupe sibling. The GranTurismo sprints from 0-100 kph in a breathtaking 3.5 seconds, reaching a staggering top speed of 320 kph. Considering the inherent weight increase associated with the convertible format, these figures might be slightly revised for the GranCabrio.
A Future of Electrifying Possibilities:
While the launch currently focuses on the potent Trofeo variant, the future of the GranCabrio holds even more exciting possibilities. Maserati has remained tight-lipped about the availability of the coupe’s 490hp V6 and 760hp electric powertrains in the GranCabrio. However, the recent sightings of the GranTurismo Folgore EV undergoing testing hint at its imminent arrival. This potential addition would undeniably broaden GranCabrio’s appeal, catering to customers seeking an open-air experience combined with the environmental consciousness of electric mobility.
All-New Maserati GranCabrio: Aesthetics
The GranCabrio’s visual identity echoes the captivating design language of the GranTurismo coupe. Sharing its quintessential sports car proportions, it features signature Maserati details like the oval grille adorned with the iconic Trident logo, the signature three air vents on the front fenders, and the sleek, vertical headlamps with L-shaped LED daytime running lights. These design elements seamlessly blend to create a visually stunning and unmistakably Maserati silhouette.
Comfort and Technology:
Stepping inside the GranCabrio, one encounters a familiar and luxurious environment. The cabin design mirrors the coupe, featuring dual screens for the infotainment and HVAC controls, a classic analogue clock on the dashboard, and the sporty and stylish steering wheel with digital dials. Notably, a new neck-warmer system is now standard, offering three levels of heat output to enhance comfort during open-air drives. However, the wind deflector, which reduces turbulence at higher speeds, remains optional.
All-New Maserati GranCabrio: India Launch
The last Maserati launched in India was the captivating MC20, unveiled in March 2023. The company has previously confirmed the arrival of the GranTurismo coupe in India between April and June 2024, followed by the GranTurismo Folgore EV expected to arrive between October and December. Given Maserati’s history of offering the GranCabrio in previous generations in India, it’s safe to assume that this latest iteration will eventually grace Indian shores, potentially sometime in 2025.
