2022 Alpina D4 S Gran Coupe is a BMW’s diesel-powered 4 Series Gran Coupe getting a makeover. Giving a slightly higher edge than the standard model, this four-door is a complete combination of performance and visual upgrades from the tuner.
The tuner made a mild styling makeover to the 4 Series Gran Coupe, adding a new front splitter. For the rear, the D4 S boasts Alpina’s sport exhaust system with finishing in four exhaust pipes and a new rear diffuser. The car sits on new 20-inch wheels which reinterpret Alpina’s Classic 20-spoke-wheel design. The tires are wrapped in forged Pirelli P Zero ultra-high-performance tires. The tuner does offer 20-inch Pirelli Sottozero Series II rubber for winter driving.

For the interior, the BMW has heated seats and a heated steering wheel. As optional, customers can upgrade the interior with Lavalina leather upholstery. The tuner also offers safety features like cross-traffic alert, lane-change warning, and more. The Alpina Sport Suspension features bespoke spring and damper settings. The tuned Gran Coupe has three sports settings; Comfort and two Sports settings. The car derives its stopping power from 15.6-inch front brake discs and four-piston calipers. The rear has 13.6-inch discs.
Engine & Performance
Under the hood lies BMW’s twin-turbocharged 3.0L straight-six engine that produces 350 hp and 730 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive AWD system. These combinations propel the car to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. The car has a top speed of 168 mph. The Gran Coupe has an extra oomph by improving the cooling system. The car sports new Alpina intercoolers, a transmission cooler, a high-performance cooling system, and an electromechanical coolant pump.
The tuned Alpina D4 S Gran Coupe with diesel engine is available now. The tuner expects deliveries to begin this September with a starting price of $83,809.
