2023 Mercedes Sprinter Diesel 4Matic
This is the upcoming 2023 Mercedes Sprinter with Diesel Engine. The German automaker will be transitioning the popular van to a four-cylinder engine lineup solely. Swapping the diesel 3.0L V6 for a twin-turbo diesel 2.0L inline-four for higher horsepower and torque figures. Along with the updated powertrains, Mercedes-Benz offers the van an all-wheel-drive system.
The new AWD system is an on-demand setup that automatically provides torque between its axles as demanded, which helps in a more fine-tuned control over the terrain.

Power Options
The new OM654 engine will provide smoother accelerations, higher torque values, decreased emissions and lower noise and vibration levels than its predecessors, Mercedes-Benz says. The 4-cyl. will be available in two output ratings, 168 hp and 208 hp.
For an efficient operation, a combination of an aluminium block and steel pistons, stepped-recess combustion process, cylinder coated by Nanoslide for friction reduction, dynamic multi-way gas exhaust recirculation and near-engine gas exhaust after treatment facilitates lower consumption and low emissions.

Diesel Engine, Transmission, Top Speed & 0-60 mph
In new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Swapping the diesel 3.0L V6 for a twin-turbo diesel 2.0L inline-four. They will also be transitioning to a new 9G-Tronic transmission that will be standard for all variants. The 9-speed transmission provides increased driving comfort, reduced fuel consumption, a higher overall gear ratio and quicker downshifts. The less powerful variant has 168 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The higher-output version makes 208 horsepower and 450 Nm of Torque. This Diesel Sprinter can go from 0-60 mph is 8.2 Seconds and has a Top Speed of 99 MPH which is pretty nice for a vehicle like this.

Drivetrain
The new AWD replaces the previous 4×4 system, providing more power, endurance and overall seamless transition. Now, customers can experience automatic torque-on-demand with up to 50% split per axle, unlike the previous engageable system, which provided 35% of torque to the front and 65% to the rear axle when in 4×4 mode, said Mercedes Benz.

Mileage
EPA doesn’t estimate the fuel efficiency for the vehicle with Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of more than 8500 pounds (Exp.). Mercedes Sprinter Diesel have Mileage of 18 MPG in City and 21 MPG on Highway which is not much good.

Price
Currently, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter costs $36,500 to $57,000 expect those numbers to increase closer to the 2023 van’s debut.
