2024 Fiat 600e vs Volvo EX30: Which Is Better?
For the European market, Jeep debuted the Avenger, a small crossover, as its first EV last autumn. With the new 600e, Fiat has put its touch on the same platform. It features an attractive exterior, a respectable all-electric range, and a stylish interior. According to Fiat, the electric underpinnings boost the “Dolce Vita feel” and add an interior room. The moniker “600” dates back to the 1950s when Fiat introduced a little larger variant of the classic 500. The new “600e” fills a similar position in the current Fiat lineup. Meanwhile, The Volvo EX30, their smallest and most fuel-efficient SUV, will be among the two new electric vehicles Volvo aims to introduce in 2024. The EX30 has a contemporary appearance with an angular Volvo logo, distinguishing Thor’s Hammer LED headlamps and smooth lines. Additionally, it makes use of the attractive “paint-the-roof black” approach.

The 600e employs a 54.0-kWh lithium-ion battery, similar to the Avenger, and boasts a range of over 249 miles on the WLTP test cycle used in Europe, which normally yields more optimistic results than the EPA’s. The 600e will be most comfortable driving in cities, where Fiat estimates a range of over 373 miles. According to Fiat, the 600e can recharge the battery to 80% in under 30 minutes at a rate of up to 100 kW. The 600e’s front wheels receive 154 horsepower from a single electric engine, and according to Fiat, it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 9.0 seconds.

Similar to the 500e, the 600e has a rounded style with lots of smooth surfaces and inviting features. The running lights below the oval LED headlights are mirrored by a piece of body-colored trim, just like the 500e. 18-inch wheels with a stylish design are located within the wheel arches and are complemented by black trim that extends down the side skirts, at least on higher trim levels. Inside, the curved dashboard sprouts a 10.3-inch screen that runs wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, continuing the ovoid design theme. A 7.0-inch digital gauge display complements this, and the 600e comes equipped with a wireless charger and a tonne of USB connections. The 600e should cost $45,000 to start.
