Triumph has introduced the updated 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 range, featuring a new ‘X’ variant that replaces the previous ‘XC’ model. The top-spec ‘XE’ variants have received significant updates, including new features and cycle parts. The Scrambler 1200 X could get a price tag of Rs. 11.93 lakh, while the XE variant comes with a price tag of about Rs. 13.33 lakh. These updates bring fresh excitement to the Scrambler lineup, and Indian enthusiasts can anticipate their arrival in the market soon.
2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 Design and Upgrades
The 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 lineup brings some notable design and ergonomic changes. Both models share a tubular steel frame and wire-spoke wheels with Aluminum rims. The XE variant distinguishes itself with a 65mm wider handlebar, reversible risers for handlebar height adjustment, and adjustable foot pegs. The XE also features a 32mm longer swingarm compared to the X, resulting in enhanced stability. The Scrambler 1200 X prioritizes road-focused performance, offering a lower 820mm seat height, further reducible with a 795mm accessory seat. The X has narrower dimensions in height, length, and width compared to the XE, with different rake and trail measurements, making each model unique in its handling characteristics.
Features
The Scrambler 1200 X offers riders five distinct riding modes, each featuring dedicated throttle responses and specific ABS and traction control settings for various conditions, including sport, road, rain, off-road, and rider-configurable modes. In contrast, the XE variant goes further by introducing an off-road pro mode, catering to seasoned riders. Moreover, the Scrambler 1200 XE enhances the rider’s experience with its customizable full-color TFT instrument display. It offers two stylish information layout design themes, each with three additional options to adjust the level of information displayed. Riders can choose between high or low-contrast display settings and personalize their startup screen. This adds a touch of personalization to their riding experience.
Engine and Performance
Both the 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 models share the same robust powerplant, a 1,200cc Bonneville twin engine with a Scrambler-specific tune. The engine benefits from a new single 50mm throttle body and revised exhaust headers, improving airflow and enhancing torque distribution. This results in a broader spread of torque and earlier delivery of peak power and torque. Peak power of 89 bhp is achieved at 7,000 rpm, while peak torque of 110 Nm arrives at 4,250 rpm.
