The 2024 Mercedes Benz Vision EQXX Concept Performance & Specifications

Overview

With the ongoing fight with climate change, many automakers are moving towards more sustainable and carbon friendly solutions with going carbon neutral in the coming year. One such is the German automaker, Mercedes Benz. And they’ve taken a major leap forward. Mercedes Benz have set a benchmark in the battery technology and efficiency and have set new standards with their Vision EQXX Concept with having a battery range of 1000 Kilometres in single charge which is just absolutely bongering.

What’s New ?

The Vision EQXX, shares some of the key features with the already popular EQS offered by the company in terms of the front looks. But that’s it. The car’s exterior is just incredible, extravagant and just insanely aerodynamic with flowing design which ends at the end. The rear part of the car is breathtaking with tail to tail going rear lights making it more streamlined, much higher than the rest of the cars or even EVs of the world. The design isn’t boring, it’s also not new but also not bad. It’s just wow ! Kinda resembles the cars from the Aston Martin, and Ferrari’s of the world.

The car’s super lightweight design and aerodynamic body made the car to have a drag coefficient of just 0.17 which is a benchmark in itself. The company’s current EQS which holds a current record of the most aerodynamic vehicle in the world, the EQXX has not set a new milestone for other manufacturers. This will help the car in terms of driving experience and battery range. As two-thirds of the electric energy is gone just to counter the air resistance.

Powertrain & Performance

Though the company hasn’t said anything about the power output figures like the horsepower and torque of the car, we’re sure that it will be just as powerful as the rest of the cars when it is launched. We do know that the car’s lightweight and aerodynamic design helped it to retain the energy and made it 95% efficient. That means that 95% of the energy from the battery will go directly to the wheels. To get an idea, the internal combustion engine powered cars achieve an efficiency of just 30% efficiency and a human long distance runner can achieve a max efficiency of 50%.

Battery : Technology & Range

This Vision EQXX has got the same battery as do the EQS which is a 100 kWh in capacity, but thanks to the streamlines design of the EQXX, it will make the car achieve a range of 1000 Kms which is just ridiculous stat for an EV, also while taking up 50% space and having 30% less weight than the same capacity. It also features a solar roof, which when charged greatly could add a range of 25 more kilometres to the already insane 1000 Kilometres.

21motoring Insights

We think that Mercedes won’t launch this vehicle, in near two to three years, it’s Though we’re positive about the tech that the company has been working on, we hope that the battery tech will be made available for its future cars, along with the body design that Mercedes took for this one, the upcoming future Electric vehicles from the company will feature with the same DNA. We’re hoping so much from Mercedes and what it will do in the future and what it will bring to the automotive and EV world and what milestones it will set for other car manufacturers. Future is electric and we’re excited for the future. Until then wear masks and be safe.
