Ferrari recalls more than 2000 supercars in China.

The Asian country’s State Administration for Market Regulation announced the recall of Ferrari cars on Friday due to possible braking issues. The reason wasn’t disclosed during the time. Ferrari is issuing a recall of more than 2000 supercars that contain its Type F142 and Type F142M sports cars. This safety recall of the Italian automaker in the U.S was due to the same reasons. The recall will begin on May 30, 2022.

According to China’s market regulators, the models affected were imported between March 2010 and March 2019. The supercars covered in the recall: Ferrari 458 Italia, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, 458 Spider, 488 GTB, and 488 Spider. The affected models. The recall announcement in China is a part of a global recall that reached the US shores last year.
In the recall announcement, Number 21V833000 of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Tha was issued last October 23, 2021. Around 9.985 units were recalled due to leaking brake fluid. That resulted in a loss in braking ability, leaving Ferrari to take action immediately.

Ferrari investigated the issue with its supplier Bosch. The Italian carmaker said that the cause was the reservoir fluid cap that doesn’t properly vent. Due to that, a vacuum inside the brake fluid reservoir may be created, resulting in the leaking brake fluid. “The safety and wellbeing of our clients is our priority. We operate according to stringent safety and security guidelines to ensure the right systems and procedures are in place at all times,” Ferrari said in the statement over the recall.
