Ford Teases Its Second All-Electric Commercial Vehicle.
Ford had teased its second all-electric commercial vehicle. It is one of the four new upcoming commercial models expected for the European market. Ford announced its upcoming premiere for its second all-electric commercial vehicle for customers in Europe. It will premiere on May 9. The announcement will mark Ford’s next milestone toward a zero-carbon emission future. Every vehicle sold in Europe by 2035 will be a carbon-neutral vehicle.
Ford recently started producing its E-Transit in Turkey and announced four more commercial models. They will be inside passenger and cargo versions of the all-new Transit Custom (in 2023) and the Transit Courier (in 2024). We believe that the new teaser of the next EV is the battery version of the all-new Transit Custom/Tourneo Custom.
The short video highlights LED lights and the “E” sign in the front. With a modern, smooth and simple design language. There is no information regarding the battery capacity or range as of now. We think that in the long term, Ford will offer various options as per the wants of its customers. As the Ford E-Transit, the electric Transit Custom/Tourneo Custom will be produced in Kocaeli, Turkey.
Ford is ramping up the electrification of all of its lines. It has made a joint venture with SK Innovation’s SK On for the battery. As for North America, Ford is prioritizing electrification Starting with the Ford F-150 Lightning and other commercial vehicles. Just like Ford, other big manufacturers like Stellantis are on the verge of electrifying their commercial vehicle lineup. The company offers electric versions of large, medium, and small vans by Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, and Vauxhall.
