Overview
Coolest Swiss Sports Cars are made by the Swiss Muses of the automobile industry. Let it be classic-Italian grand tourers to Tech-Savvy EVs, the Swiss has them all. Switzerland is the perfect destination for the vacation of the wealthiest, and The Swiss Alps, picturesque countryside scenery is the favorite for all travel enthusiasts but not in terms of its automobiles. But in recent years, there are a lot of Swiss Sports car projects coming out. So, let’s take a look at them.
10. Leblanc Caroline GTR
This small sports car company with big plans, built and debuted the Caroline GTR in 1999. This car with its mid-mounted V8 engine makes 512 hp and can run with a top speed of 212 mph. Contradicting its race-ready looks, the car is fully road legal and was being sold in Europe for years before Leblanc decided it wanted to enter the US market. But sadly, in trying to do so, the company ran out of funds, and eventually liquidated the company.

9. Morand Hypercar
The first hypercar to come out of Switzerland, entering production in 2023, the name Morand Hypercar is just like its name. It is reportedly, being equipped with a V10 engine and three electric motors to make an output of 1,200 hp. Also, a fully-electric version is rumored, with 2,000 hp on the throttle. The car was revealed in May 2021 with the company promising, that a fully-functional prototype will be ready by the end of 2022.

8. Rinspeed Squba
The weirdest concepts and prototypes to ever hit the auto show circuit, are famously made by Rinspeed. One of its coolest builds has to be the Squba, a modified Lotus Elise that’s built to be driven underwater as well as on the road. Featuring a combination of electric motors, water jets, and screw propellors, the car can be driven both on land and underwater. Sadly, this car was a one-off and never got into production, probably due to the high development costs.
7. Monteverdi High Speed 375/S
Under the name of “High Speed“, carmaker Monteverdi made a series of performance and luxury cars throughout the Sixties and Seventies. But the 375/S was the best. Featuring a Chrysler big-block V8 under the hood and is styled by an Italian design house, Frua. “Strictly in limited numbers“, each car was hand-built, although it’s unclear exactly how many. The car was popular in the US market, but new legislation rules killed off this car.

6. Elextra EV
Taking aims at Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan, this four-door AWD electric supercar was set for production back in 2019. But the company has been pushing it back ever since. There is still no exact date for production, but the company claims it produces 671 hp and 0-60 mph in just 2.3 seconds.
5. Kyburz E-Rod
The lightest Hot Rod from Swiss startup Kyburz, the E-Rod is a road-legal EV sports car that weighs just 530 kg and gives a fair and strong competition to the likes of heavy cars like Caterham or an Ariel Atom. With having a range of around 137 miles and 201 hp in top-spec form, which is insane for such a light car. The base price starts at $31,630 and the top-spec version costs a whopping $102,800.

4. Picasso PS-01
The PS-01 from Picasso Automobili may not be a good-looking Swiss sports car, but it is one of the fastest 600 hp track toy that weighs just 900 Kg. This weird-looking shape of the body is mainly because of aerodynamics. Picasso partnered with Pirelli for developing tires specially for this car. The brand’s primary target is the Middle East, as it made its public debut at the Pirelli P Zero Experience at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi in early 2022.
3. Rinspeed Σtos
From the looks of a normal sports car, this Rinspeed one-off isn’t a normal car as the brand doesn’t make one. The car features an autonomous driving capability and a steering wheel that disappears into the dashboard on demand, providing more room for passengers when the car is in autonomous mode. Also, there is a rear-mounted DJI Drone that can “quickly pick up a bouquet for the significant other ordered on the way home“. Sounds funny, isn’t it?
2. Piëch GT
Piëch Automotive is a Swiss Firm founded by Toni Piëch, son of the late VW Group chairman Ferdinand Piëch, who was himself the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, founder of Porsche AG. There’s no doubt that the startup has better industry connections than most. The GT is the brand’s first car, currently in testing, and is set to launch in mid-2024. Powered by three electric motors that generate 600 hp, featuring next-gen battery technology that promises to reduce charging times.

1. Monteverdi Hai 650 F1
The last attempt by Peter Monteverdi, to revive his company was the Hai 650 F1, which unfortunately was unsuccessful. Reportedly three cars were built, and a few customer orders were taken. But it seems like Monteverdi ran out of the funds before completing these cars. Between 1992 and 1995, the development of this car was carried out. Equipped with a 649 hp Ford V8 that could hit the car with a top speed of 208 mph.
