Ferrari SF90 Specifications & Features
When you think of a plug-in hybrid, you might picture eco-conscious drivers cruising in the right lane, aiming to maximize every drop of fuel. The 2024 Ferrari SF90 Stradale and Spider are hypercars, not hypermilers. Beneath their exotic exteriors lies a robust 986-hp powertrain, featuring a twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors. The new SF90 XX variant takes things up a notch with 1016 hp, incorporating advanced tech and state-of-the-art aerodynamics for improved lap times. Inside, it’s all posh with nice-smelling leather, fancy trim, and easy controls. But, here’s the kicker. It costs around half a million dollars, so it’s only for the super-rich car lovers.
What’s New?
For 2024, there’s an even faster SF90 XX variant in the lineup. This track-focused beast packs a punch with 1016 hp, boasting extra aerodynamic tweaks and upgraded electronic gadgets that set it apart from the regular model and other supercars. Sadly, there’s a catch. They’re only making 799 SF90 Stradale coupes and 599 SF90 Spider convertibles, and they’re all spoken for already.
Ferrari SF90 Engine, Power & Performance
In the SF90, a seriously strong V8 and three electric motors team up to bring the power. The twin-turbo 4.0L V8 pumps out a hefty 769 hp on its own, while the trio of electric motors adds another 217 hp. Altogether, the gas/electric combo gives a total output of 986 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. If you go for the SF90 XX upgrade, you get an extra 30 hp, totaling a whopping 1016 hp, plus a cool feature called Extra Boost that kicks in temporarily for a power boost when coming out of a corner.
Power goes to all four wheels, making this the first mid-engine Ferrari with AWD, managed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. And, of course, all that power means crazy fast acceleration. Ferrari says the SF90 Stradale does 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds. But in tests, it did it in just 2.0 seconds. A record for a production car. After taking the SF90 XX for a spin on a test track. We’re thinking it might hit 60 in an incredible 1.9 seconds. Different driving modes let you customize the handling to fit your style. Just tweak the mode selector for EV Only, Hybrid, Performance, or the ultimate, Qualify. A mode that lets you unleash the full performance potential of the car.
