Overview
In the past few months, many manufacturers are revving up their cars with a V6 instead of putting a V8 engine. They are more efficient, more effective in terms of carbon emissions, and are more powerful than ever before.
But we all love the beefy eight-cylinder engines that just knock off your eardrums and just soothe the inner child inside you. It pops and bangs out everything. But there are some cars that just desperately need a V8 engine. And we’re just dying awaiting to see that happen.
So here we are, with the 10 best cars that can need a power of a V8 inside them.
10. Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
As we’re aware that the Trackhawk will be discontinued next year, along with some other cars. But putting that aside rumors suggests that the next-generation Grand Cherokee will get a Trackhawk version. And if that happens (fingers crossed) we hope to see a bulky supercharged V8 that pulls out over 700 hp.
9. Mercedes-AMG C63
The Mercedes-AMG C63 no doubt has one of the best sounding V8 engines ever. And no, It’s not discontinued. The sad news is that the German giant will no longer be making the C Class with a V8 engine. But rather a four-cylinder with a hybrid solution. And this is really sad.
8. Ford GT
If there’s any car that can rival modern-day supercars is the Ford GT. Believe me, it is one of the best cars in terms of looks and performance. Might as well say that it’s the best Ford ever (I am really going to be in trouble for this).
But for ages, the Ford GTs have been fitted with a V8 engine, and the Ford GT40 was some of the best examples of that. But the newer generation lacks that. They offer an Ecoboost V6 engine. We can just imagine a Ford GT coming out of nowhere, rocking a V8 engine again.
7. Ford Bronco Raptor
It hasn’t been much time since Ford launched the Ford Bronco. The car is selling like hot cakes. Recently enough they announced the Raptor. And it still misses the remaining two cylinders like the Ford GT.
The Bronco Raptor will have a 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque. It can go from 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds.
6. Maserati Grecale
Performance SUVs have recently taken over the market. And the demands are just not stopping anytime soon. Cars like the BMW X5 M Competition and the Brabus 900 Superblack are just levelling up the bar.
Italian manufacturer Maserati has cooked something really cool up in their sleeves. The 2022 Maserati Grecale is a compact SUV that looks somewhat like an outdated Levante. But the sad part is that this Italian car will be rocking a V6 instead of that symphonic tuned V8 that we all love.
5. Maserati MC20
The recently launched Maserati MC20 isn’t just a sportscar it’s the future of what the brand will going to offer in the future.
The mid-engined sportscar rocks a 3.0-liter V6 under its hood that makes a hefty 621 hp. And with a proper rear-wheel drive, it can go from 0-60 mph in under 3.0 seconds. Though we really wished to see a V8 in it. But it is what it is.
4. Ford Ranger Raptor
Another Ford on the list. And just like the Ford GT and the Ford Bronco Raptor, the younger sibling of the F-150 also lacks the two cylinders.
It is for the people who don’t want a huge yacht on their back. The new Ford Ranger Raptor has a 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes a good 392 hp. But all in all, a good-old V8 would’ve been a good choice for this beast.
3. Maserati GranTurismo
There are some chatters happening around the community that the upcoming Maserati GranTurismo will not be powered by a V8 engine. And looking at it, we think that it wouldn’t even feature an internal combustion engine after all.
It could feature as a purely electric vehicle that makes over 1,200 hp and can achieve a top speed of over 186 mph.
2. Alfa Romeo Tonale
The new Alfa Romeo Tonale isn’t what you expect from the Italian brand that is known for making cars that carry a majestic presence with it. The brand is known for its one of the best sounding V8 engines. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is one of the best examples of that.
But keeping the controversies aside, it’s the most advanced Alfa Romeo ever. It is powered by a 275-hp four-cylinder engine and can go from 0-60 mph in under 6.0 seconds.
1. BMW M3
The BMW M4 CSL and the BMW M5 CS are one of the best BMWs the brand has ever produced. But there was a time when the BMW M3s were the charm of the giant’s lineup. Especially the BMW M3 E30 and the M3 E90s.
The E90 M3 came with a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that produced a hefty 414 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. It resulted in the most beautiful exhaust sounds ever. But we’re still hopeful that a limited edition V8-powered M3 would steal a crown someday soon.
