Dodge is taking down its Manual Transmission from legendary Challenger Hellcat. Dodge enthusiasts are disappointed with the disappearance of manual transmissions as a vehicle option for more than a decade. Now 2022 Dodge Challenger Hellcat is added to the list, as it is no longer offered with a 6-speed manual transmission. While many Dodge Challenger models come with the stick shift.

Manual Transmission Removed From Challenger Hellcat

Dodge removed the Hellcat’s 6-speed manual option from Dodge’s online configurator in the late 2021 model year. So, if you want a Hellcat and its supercharged 6.2L V8, it will be paired with a TorqueFlight 8-speed automatic transmission.

A Dodge spokesperson described it as a temporary situation and said that a revised calibration for this powertrain combo will be coming that will allow the stick-shift Hellcat to go on sale again.

The supercharged V8 cranks out 889 Nm at 4,800 RPM with a top speed of 196 mph and it can go straight 0-60 in 3.6 seconds despite all that torque and fishtailing.

2022 Dodge Challenger Hellcat successfully manages to deliver a mileage of 13 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway which is on par compared to the rivals such as the Shelby GT500 and Camaro ZL1 which delivers 14/21 mpg and 12/18 mpg in city and highway.

For the 2022 model year, the cheapest Challenger Hellcat costs $68,320, a significant increase over the 2021 Challenger Hellcat which had a starting price of $61,850.
